Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes could have lived happily ever after. They behaved like giddy schoolchildren in early interviews. The problem was that he was deeply involved in the church of Scientology. It’s a cult-like organization that many celebrities have gotten into and managed to escape. Katie knew she had to escape when she and Tom had their daughter, Suri. She put her love for her daughter above any feelings she may have still had for Tom. They signed a divorce agreement. It isn’t fully clear why the rift between Suri and Tom began and why it hasn’t been fixed. Perhaps he does see her as an enemy of Scientology. Perhaps Katie is purposefully trying to keep them apart. Perhaps it’s simply too awkward to start a conversation after so many years. The only hope is that one day they can find a way to create healing before it’s too late.
