The film Jurassic Park made it clear that Ariana Richards had at least one talent. She was a superior actress and a large part of the blockbuster’s success. She made the young Lex a force to be reckoned with. When Ariana finally faded away from the Hollywood world, it wasn’t because of the reason many fans may have thought. All she wanted was to try something different.
She’s dipped her toes into almost every method of artistic expression in the world, including acting and singing. What she found was that painting was the one medium that truly spoke to her soul. She gave up the fast-paced life of Hollywood for a quiet life in Salem, Oregon. It gives her the free time and quiet to complete her work. Ariana is directly descended from a classical Renaissance artist. She takes after others of his time, particularly Monet. She appreciates how he attempted to see the soul of his subjects before he painted them.
Ariana works to do the same thing. She looks carefully at her subjects before finding a way to put their essence into art. She hasn’t forgotten about the franchise that made her famous. While she’s surprised it’s lasted as long as it has, she’s grateful for Jurassic Park.
It’s also wormed its way into her art. She’s painted the famous scene of her character being stalked by a dinosaur as well as a massive dinosaur attack on a museum. They’re standouts in her portfolio as both collector’s items and beautiful pieces of art.
