He owned the mansion and lived there with his family for years. He raised his children and lived his final days out there. Elvis and his manager kept almost everything from his life. That includes everything from costumes to receipts.

It’s all become part of the Graceland Archives. Each item has a story, and they work together to help tell the story of Elvis’s life and the world during his lifetime. Fans have been allowed to tour Graceland for years. They’re given a personal picture of his life, but it isn’t as comprehensive as they may think.
The upstairs, particularly the bedroom where Elvis slept, aren’t available to the public. There are also special rooms in the basement that only his family knew about. His daughter Lisa Marie remembers the mischief that would always go down in the billiard room.

She’s had special permission to one private part of the property that no one else knew about. It held thousands more Elvis artifacts and items. It helps her feel connected to her father when she views them. Oprah was the first one to be allowed to see them in years. She took a personalized tour of Graceland. It included a tour of the special vault. She got to film it and share it with the world.

That makes the vault more than a special way for Lisa Marie to connect with her father. It’s now a way for Elvis fans to connect with him by seeing his prized possessions.
