Bella Ramsey
Bella was born in Nottingham, England in September 2003. She showed great acting promise when she was just 4-years-old. It was then that she started studying acting and went on to star in many amateur productions. When she was 10-years-old, she got a spot on the Television Workshop. This was a show that prepared young actors to prepare for television and film roles.
Making It Big
The Television Workshop did wonders for Bella. Her first major audition was for a role in the movie, The BFG in front of the famous casting director, Nina Gold. Unfortunately, they told her that she wasn’t right for the part. While Bella didn’t get the role in The BFG, Nina saw potential in her and asked her to audition for Game of Thrones. She read the script and got the part.
Lyanna Mormont
Bella Ramsey joined the cast of Game of Thrones in its 6th season. He played Lyanna Mormont, the only surviving heir of Bear Island. After her first appearance on the series, she had plenty of fans. This is something that the show’s creators took notice of right away. She was supposed to star in just one episode, but when the creators saw her, they knew that she would be a star. They kept her on for nine episodes, ending with the episode that everyone looked forward to, the battle between the living and the dead.
The Show’s Theme
The major theme of the show was the characters fighting for territory. The battle between the living and the dead was the biggest battle ever recorded for film or television. This battle was Bella’s last performance. Even though she was there and did her scenes, she told the Los Angeles Times that her parents never allowed her to watch herself on the show.
Talent and Professionalism
Mark Mylod directed the young actress during her first scene. Mylod told The Hollywood Reporter that her talent and professionalism had her older co-stars shocked and even a bit embarrassed. She knew all of her lines and only needed a ½ hour of rehearsing. When it was time to shoot the scene, everyone on set realized that Bella was a star. She went above and beyond in her scenes, which is why they decided to bring her back. They wanted more of Bella. During her time on the show, she had a number of scene-stealing moments.
Lyanna’s Story
Bella’s character had a mother named Maege, who became the Lady of Bear Island after Lyanna’s brother, Jeor left to join the Night Watch. Since Jeor’s son, Jorah was exiled, he could not rule either, which left only Lyanna. When her mother fought in a war and never returned, Lyanna became the Lady of Bear Island. She pledged all 62 of her soldiers to fight for Winterfell. During the battle, Lyanna was told that women and girls didn’t fight in battle. She responded by saying, “I don’t plan on knitting by the fire while men fight for me.” During the battle, Lyanna paid the ultimate price for her decision to fight. A giant lifts her up and crushes her with his fist.
Beyond Expectations
When Bella got the role, she never expected that she would have so many fans. She told a reporter from the Los Angeles Times that she never expected to be so well-received by Game of Thrones viewers. She never expected people to become so invested in her character and her story.
Pleased With Her Ending
Bella knew that many of the characters were going to die at some point in the series. She says that she is grateful that the writers gave her such a heroic ending. She says that since giants don’t exist, the creators had her acting next to a giant claw machine in front of a green screen to film her final scene. The machine picked her up in the way the giant was supposed to. She describes it as being surreal.
Permission To Watch
Because Bella was just a teenager in real life, she had to listen to her parents and couldn’t watch the show. Here’s exactly why Game of Thrones’ Bella Ramsey is banned from watching the show. Her parents thought the show was too gruesome and adult for her to watch. Even though she starred in the show, they didn’t want her watching it. She says that she watched the episodes that she starred in, but her parents didn’t allow her to watch anything else. She was allowed to watch the final episode, and to watch it live in England; she had to get up at 2 am.
18-Years-Old
Bella says that when she is 18-years-old, she plans to watch the whole series from the beginning. Until then, she intends to respect her parents’ wishes.
