And with the Royal Film Performance being an annual fundraising event in England where a notable film is premiered and the British Royal Family attends. Performance was Born Free, which starred real-life husband and wife Bill Travers and Virginia McKenna. Woody Allen had broken out into the entertainment industry only a year prior with his debut film What’s New, Pussycat? Ursula Andress had risen to prominence as the very first Bond girl in 1962’s Dr. No, which made her an especially big deal in England. Meanwhile, Warren Beatty was already a big star, and was only a year out from his performance in Bonnie and Clyde.

Raquel Welch played the character of Lust, who is a demonic spirit that works for the Devil, played by Peter Cook. The Devil is attempting to lure Dudley Moore’s character of Stanley Moon into giving up his soul so that he can be with the woman he loves. Dudley Moore’s character was infatuated with a waitress that was played by actress Eleanor Bron. But it was Raquel herself who ended up receiving the audience’s infatuation.

The film would end up being remade in the year 2000, with Brendan Fraser in the role that was originally played by Dudley Moore, and Elizabeth Hurley as the Devil, combining the roles that were played in the original by Raquel Welch and Peter Cook.
