He survived throughout the show’s tumultuous history. The show itself was controversial, but it also had behind-the-scenes drama, such as the infamous firing of Charlie Sheen.
Despite these issues, Angus lived in the lap of luxury for years. He was the highest-paid child actor and a key part of a top-rated comedy. His contract had him stay on throughout the 10th season. He walked out, only reappearing for a cameo in the finale.

Angus definitely went out with a bang. He bluntly explained his reasonings for quitting and giving up his success. He’d rediscovered his Christian faith, and the show no longer matched with his values. He encouraged anyone who was still watching the show to stop. To him, Two and a Half Men was giving out harmful messages to everyone regardless of their faith. Angus then took a step back from acting. He enrolled in college and only appeared in small parts occasionally.

He does not harbor ill will toward the cast and crew he worked with and is glad he had the opportunity to work with them. He also apologized if they or anyone else was offended by his comments. The choice to walk out was necessary for his sanity. Being a paid hypocrite, even if you’re one of the highest-paid of all time, is draining.
