#1 Moustafa IsmailIn 2013, Moustafa was in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the biggest biceps. His biceps were about 31 inches in diameter, which is the size of the average person’s waist. Moustafa says that he has never used steroids or any other performance-enhancing drugs. Considering the size of his biceps compared to the rest of his body, many people don’t believe him. He says that he eats about 7 pounds of protein each day to make his biceps so large, however, many people in the bodybuilding community have accused him of injecting an oil called Synthol directly into his biceps.
#2 Gregg ValentinoGregg Valentino has earned the nickname, “The Man Whose Arm Exploded.” He is also one of the most hated men in the bodybuilding world. In the bodybuilding community, using steroids, synthetic oil injections, and performance enhancing drugs are frowned upon. He has used these drugs and went so far that his arm actually burst. After using a dirty needle, his arm became severely infected. Rather than going to see a doctor, he decided to perform surgery on himself by cutting his arm open and draining the blood. Over the years, he has been in and out of rehab and he has spent time in jail for the usage, possession, and distribution of steroids.
#3 Gary HimingGary Himing was an Australian bodybuilder who competed in the IFBB competition in 2009. During the competition that was being held in Victoria, Australia, he had a heart attack during his set and he collapsed. Officials at the competition performed CPR, however, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. After Gary was taken to the hospital, the competition continued as if nothing ever happened. After his death, there was a dark cloud looming over the bodybuilding community after it was announced that the reason for his heart attack was associated with supplement and drug abuse.
#4 Sally McNeilAfter serving in the Marine Corps, Sally got into bodybuilding. Her husband Ray was also a bodybuilder. Unfortunately, her mind and her body didn’t respond well to the enormous amount of testosterone and steroids that she was taking daily. She went into violent “roid rages”, and was involved a number of fights. At one point she was so angry that she dropped a 70-pound weight on her husband’s car. In April 1996, she shot her husband in the chest and he died. She is serving a life sentence in prison. Sadly, hers is another cautionary tale about the use of steroids.
#5 Markus RuhlCurrently, Markus holds the record of having the biggest shoulders in bodybuilding history. He is also believed to be the strongest man in the world. It took him 5 years to train and prepare for his first competition. He became very successful in the fitness world. In 1999, after testing positive for diuretics, he was disqualified from the Mr. Olympia competition. Diuretics is a substance that promotes the production of urine by rejecting any water from entering the body. He believed that if he dried himself out, his veins and muscles would pop out more.
#6 Andreas MunzerOf all the deaths in bodybuilding history, Andreas Munzer’s is the most tragic. He was very dedicated to the sport and he never stopped training and he always stuck to a strict diet. To improve and maintain his physique, he started taking diuretics and other drugs. After suffering from severe stomach pains in March of 1996, he was admitted to the hospital. After some testing, the doctors discovered that he was bleeding internally. After his kidneys and his liver shut down completely, he died. When the doctors performed an autopsy, they found over 20 different drugs in his system. Also, his liver was filled with tumors and his heart was twice the size of the average person’s heart.
#7 Arlindo De SouzaArlindo De Souza is a Brazilian bodybuilder who earned himself the nickname, The Mountain, due to his 29-inch fake biceps. He has admitted to using a combination of oils and alcohol that he injects regularly into his upper body and his arms. His doctors have warned him that if he continued to use drugs, he could develop an infection which would require his arms to be amputated. He has not taken the doctors advice, and you wouldn’t see him in a public gym. He currently works out in a makeshift gym that he built in his yard.
#8 ZyzzAziz Shavershian, also known as Zyzz, was a very popular Russian-Australian bodybuilder in the YouTube community. He quickly became a fitness icon on the internet and he has a huge following. His followers worshiped him because they believed that his amazing physique was all natural. In 2011, when he was vacationing in Thailand, he suffered a heart attack while he was in a sauna. Luckily, he was quickly taken to the hospital and the doctors were able to revive him. Sadly, at the age of 22, he died from heart failure. Since he died so young, it is believed that his death was linked to substance abuse. After his death was announced on his Facebook page, many of his fans made tributes to him on YouTube fitness channels.
#9 Ronnie ColemanRonnie Coleman is a professional bodybuilder who is now retired. He had an amazing career and won the Mr. Olympia competition 8 straight times. He also holds the record for the most wins in the IFBB, after winning 26 times. Even though he made bodybuilding a huge part of his life, he also took his education seriously. He graduated Cum Laude from Grambling State University and earned a degree in accounting.
#10 The Most Muscular Man in the WorldThis man is one of the 10 biggest body builder you wont believe are real. He is known as “The Most Muscular Man in the World.” He has arms that measure 31.4 centimeters. The man beside him in the picture is well built and quite athletic, however, he looks tiny standing next to this muscle man.
