Mom Cuts Grass Wearing A Baby Carrier And Her Heart Stops When The Police Pull Up

Motherhood

Being a mom isn’t always easy. It’s not like working a full-time job. When you work full-time, you clock out, and your day is over. At work, you do your job and only your responsibility. Being a mother is entirely different. There is no clocking out at the end of the day. As a mother, you are on duty 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Being a mother means having many jobs and wearing many hats. You need to be a teacher to help your children learn, a chef to prepare their meals, a doctor when your child is sick or injured, and a police officer when your child is acting up. You also need to be a shoulder to cry on and an occasional source of fun for your child. It is a lot of work.

Housework

Your duties don’t stop with your motherly ones. Between everything that you need to do for your children, you need to take care of your home. This means doing the dishes, doing the laundry, washing the floors, dusting the furniture, cleaning the windows, and the list goes on and on. Being a mother can be incredibly exhausting.

Rachel Brindley

Rachel Brindley is a mother of three who knows very well how challenging motherhood can be at times. She is married, but her husband, Ryan, is often very busy at work. Since Rachel is a stay-at-home mom, her husband needs to work really hard to support his family. He helps out around the house when he can, but unfortunately, his work schedule is grueling, so most of the work falls on Rachel. Having three children, one being only four-months-old, Rachel has her hands full.

Yard Work

Ryan is usually the one who handles the yard work, but because he had been working on a major project for work, he didn’t have the time. Rachel looked out the window and saw that the grass was getting very long. Since two of her children were at school, Rachel decided to help her husband out and cut the grass for him. It was a beautiful day outside, so she figured that her baby would enjoy it. She put her four-month-old baby in a front-facing infant carrier and strapped it to her belly. She got the lawnmower out of the garage, and she started cutting the grass.

Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy

Rachel had been mowing the lawn for about 15 minutes when she got the shock of her life. A Madison County Sheriff’s Deputy pulled up in front of her house and got out of the car. Mom cuts grass wearing baby carrier – her heart stops when she sees cop pull up. At first, she thought that she was in trouble. Was she cutting the grass too early, and a neighbor complained? Was there a law about cutting the grass while holding a baby in an infant carrier? She had never heard of a law like this, and her baby was strapped to her body tightly, but maybe there was a law. Next, she began to panic. Did something happen to Ryan? Were the police coming to her door to tell her? Rachel says that it felt like forever while she waited for the officer to get up the driveway to tell her what was happening.

The Reason

Rachel turned off the lawnmower, and the officer approached her. It turned out that she wasn’t in trouble, her husband was safe, and the officer just wanted to do a good deed. He offered to finish mowing the lawn for her. When he offered, Rachel couldn’t believe it. She stepped aside and allowed the deputy to mow her lawn. When she went inside to get something for her and the deputy to drink, she grabbed her phone to take a photo. Her husband would have never believed her if she didn’t have a photo to prove it. Most people would never believe her.

Social Media

Later, Rachel posted a photo of the deputy cutting her lawn along with a caption telling the story. In it, she wrote, “Y’all I thought I was about to get in trouble or something. This sweet sheriff stopped and insisted on mowing my yard for me!!” Rachel wanted people to see how kind the officer was, but she never expected her post to go viral. Since sharing it on Facebook, it has been shared 17,000 times.

KCTV

When the story went viral, the local news, KCTV caught wind of the story and went to Ryan and Rachel’s house to interview them. When asked how he felt about what the deputy did, Ryan said, “It’s small in nature, but it was a huge help to my wife. She works hard, and this officer really made our day.”

Hero

People deemed the deputy a hero. Not too many police officers would do something so kind. Rachel’s post received thousands of comments congratulating the officer for his good deed.

A Good Story For Once

With all of the negative stories surrounding police officers today, it is nice to hear a story like this. This deputy is proof that there are good cops out there who are willing to go above and beyond the call of duty for the citizens who they have been hired to protect.
