Optical Illusion
An optical illusion is something that deceives the eye by appearing to be other than it is. Optical illusions can use color, light, and patterns that can be misleading or deceptive to your brains. The information is seen by the eye and then processed by the brain. The illusion causes a perception that doesn’t match the true image.
Seeing the Image
The best part about an optical illusion is the feeling that you get when you finally see the picture. You can stare at the illusion for hours and see nothing but the shapes and the colors. When you are finally able to see what is hiding in the picture, it gives you a huge feeling of relief. This is one of the reasons that people love these illusions.
Posters
In the ’90s, people started hanging optical illusion posters on their walls. They were designed for friends and family members to enjoy, to try to see what was hidden in the picture. You had to have seen the Seinfeld episode where Elaine’s boss, Mr. Pitt, was trying his hardest to see the picture hidden in the optical illusion. He ignored Elaine and his business because he was so busy trying to see the picture hidden in the illusion. It was a bit of an exaggeration of how hard people try to see the picture, but it was why people were framing these posters and hanging them on the walls.
Moving Optical Illusions
Optical illusions don’t just stand still. There are optical illusions that move that force you to train your brain to see the movement correctly. One common illusion is the moving liquid that pours from a bottle. When you first see the illusion, it looks as though the liquid is pouring up into the bottle. It takes a bit of staring and focusing on training your brain to see the liquid pouring from the bottle into the glass. For some, it is easy to see the movement correctly. For others, it takes longer.
How Do You See the Optical Illusion Correctly
If you have an optical illusion in front of you, there is a good chance that you won’t see it if you are looking at it head-on. The trick is to distance yourself from the picture. Sitting too close will make it impossible to see what is hidden in the picture. Also, don’t look at it head-on. Instead, use your peripheral vision, also known as your side vision to see the image. If you can do this, you are sure to see the image.
Can You See This Picture?
Inside this image, there is a picture. This is an optical illusion that has gone viral. The reason? Only 1% of people can find the animal in this picture, studies says. Can you?
A Clue
Here’s a clue. The animal in the picture is black and white. Since it is hidden in a black and white photo, you have to assume that the animal is black and white. Now what? Think about the animals in the world that are black and white. When you think about it, there aren’t too many. You have the zebra, the penguin and the panda. So which one is it?
Take a Guess
Take a guess as to what animal is hiding within these zig-zag lines. If you cannot see the picture, you can only guess which one it is. Since zebras have stripes, that is the most logical choice, right? If you think that it is a zebra, you are wrong.
Do the Work
Since you cannot be sure if your guess is right, you are going to need to do the work. Start by standing in front of the picture, about a foot away. Next, look at something off to the side. Don’t look at something too far away. Look just to the left or right of the photo. Can you see it now? If not, try something else. If you are looking something to the left of the photo, try looking at something to the right. If you are looking at something to the right of the photo, try looking at something to the left. Your left brain might be stronger than your right and vice versa. Can you see it now? Give it a few seconds and focus hard. Can you see it now?
Its a Panda!
If you still cannot manage to train your brain to see what his hidden in the picture, we will give you the answer. It is a panda! Now that you know what you are looking for try looking at it again. Can you see it now? In some cases, knowing what you are looking for helped you see it. If you saw it before you got the answer, be proud of yourself. You are part of the 1% who can see it.
