#1 The Top to Your Applesauce Container
If you have ever had a single serving up of applesauce, you know that there is a foil cover on top. What you may not have realized is that you can use this foil cover as a spoon. It is very thick and it can be easily shaped into the shape of a spoon. You no longer need to worry if you forgot to grab a spoon to eat your applesauce. You can make your own.
#2 Aluminum Foil
If you are like most people, you have never really examined the aluminum foil box. On each side of the box is a tab that can be pressed in. When it is pressed in, it will hold the roll in the box so that it does come out and start rolling away when you are dispensing your foil. It makes using the foil much easier. Plastic wrap and wax paper have tabs also.
#3 Juice Boxes
Of the 10 things we have been using wrong, changing the way that you use this one is the most helpful. Little kids love drink boxes. The only problem with juice boxes is that when little kids pick up their juice box they often squeeze too hard. This makes the juice shoot up out of the straw and then all over the floor. Most people don’t know that there is a way that you can keep this from happening. On the side of the juice box are two flaps. If you lift the flaps, it gives your child something to hold onto so that they don’t squeeze the juice box.
#4 Mayonnaise
Most people know that mayonnaise is great on sandwiches, in tuna, and in salads. What you may not know is that mayonnaise has other purposes as well. If you have water stains on your wood furniture, you don’t need to buy expensive polishes and you certainly don’t need to restain your furniture. All you need to do is rub some mayonnaise on the stain and it will come right off.
Mayonnaise can also be effective in treating head lice. Many people don’t want their children to be exposed to the pesticides and chemicals that are in lice shampoo. If you put mayonnaise all over your child’s head and then cover their head with a shower cap. After about an hour, all of the lice will have smothered. Before you wash out the mayonnaise, you should brush your child’s hair with a lice comb to get all of the dead lice and eggs from their hair.
#5 The Cover Of Your Fountain Soda
If you have a fountain soda and you don’t want to need to remove water rings with mayonnaise later, you can use your lid as a coaster. On the inside of the lid is a circle. It is the perfect size to fit on the bottom of the cup. All you need to do is push the holes out from the bottom, and snap the lid right on the bottom of your cup. If you want to keep the lid on while you drink your soda, ask for two lids when you order your drink.
#6 Peanut Butter
Most people know that you should store your ketchup and mustard upside down so that it comes out easier when the bottle is almost empty. What you may not know is that you should also store your peanut butter upside down. When you store it standing up, you might notice that the oil pools on the top of the peanut butter. This isn’t something that you want. When you store it upside down, it will evenly distribute the oils throughout the jar. This will ensure a great serving of peanut butter each and every time you use it.
#7 Cheese
Cheese is great straight from the block. When you cut the cheese, the exposed end risks getting dried out or moldy. If this happens, you won’t be able to eat that part of the cheese. To keep this from happening, you should rub butter on the exposed side. It will keep the cheese fresh, longer.
#8 Chinese Food
If you have ever ordered take-out Chinese food, you know that it comes in a cardboard container. What you may not know is that the container doubles as a plate. If you unfold the container the right way, the food will rest right in the middle and you won’t need to dirty a dish. This is especially good if you want to mix your food thoroughly before you eat. If you don’t have any dishes handy, making a plate out of your take-out container could be your only option.
#9 Lint Roller
Lint rollers are great for removing hair and lint from your clothing, however, the lint roller has other uses. If you have change, wrappers, and other debris on the inside of your purse, a lint roller can clean it all out. It is also great if you have a pet who sheds. If you run the lint roller over your pet’s fur, the fur will end up on the lint roller instead of all over the carpets and the furniture. If the fur is already all over the carpet or the furniture, you can use the lint roller to lift up the pet hair. This is often more effective than a vacuum cleaner.
#10 Headrest Covers
Many trains have covers over the headrests. Most people think that it is so that they can be removed and washed occasionally. While this is one of the reasons for these covers, there is another reason. If you want to take a nap and it is too bright, you can putt the cover over your eyes so that you can take a nice nap while you are on your way to your destination. The cover will also keep your head from bobbing around while you sleep which is sure to wake you up.
